Definition & Scope:
The role of Head of Operations is a senior position and is there to ensure that all the parts of the product delivery processes come together to deliver high quality service to the customer. This position will also be responsible for the policies, practices, and operations for the Safety, Health, and Environmental functions within business. This role is vital for ensuring that a strong reputation is maintained in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance; champion safe working and toolbox talks.
- Oversee daily DC operations (receiving, picking, packing, dispatch, returns & replen) to meet OTIF and order accuracy targets.
- Continuously improve warehouse efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage, motivate and train warehouse staff according to company policies.
- Report all stock discrepancies, damages and or stock picking errors.
- Ensure clear productivity targets are defined and met .
- Be responsible for all aspects of health and safety within the business environment including implementation of policies, procedure and systems to provide for a safe and secure business operation.
- Own and report on operational KPIs (OTIF, order accuracy, average order processing time, etc).
- Be responsible for site security and act as a key holder when required.
- Manage budgets and cost efficiencies in all aspects of the operational processes [freights & forwarding, packaging, waste management etc].
- Ensure communication between departments is ongoing and utilised to maintain an environment of continuous improvement, managing peak periods and bespoke printing workflows.
- Keep an equipment maintenance log and ensure that all equipment is regularly serviced and kept fully operational to the required standard.
